I just got back from a blog who seemed to find offense at monetized blogs. The blogger later tried to justify his harsh stance by reasoning monetized blogs with no good contents are against every rules of the blogging book. These so-called agenda filled blogs are crap and their existence merely to make a quick buck. I will of course disregard his personal disdain for ‘money making’ blogs. Afterall, that is the man’s prerogative.
What baffled me is, why the distinction between monetized blogs and non-monetized ones? If we are talking about the content quality, why should we put the issue of commercialism into the equation? Are we supposed to hold commercialized blogs to a different standard than non-money making blogs?
The truth is, there are bad blogs and there are good ones. There are good monetized blogs and there are bad non-monetized blogs. That’s the undeniable truth. A heavily monetized blog littered with bad contents is no better than one without a single line of ads. The simple fact is, there is only such thing as a good blog or a bad one. And that even my friend, is pretty subjective.
