Pablo - Even my hubby's colleagues were not aware of the march. Summore their working place is in Masjid Jamek. (project basis) Blek

On the other hand, the bumi bank workers were very much aware. They told my husband they cannot march because they fear losing their job if caught. You know lar.. C&MB belongs to who...

I went for the march and I am just glad to say those people are undeterred. I did not get to march all the way to the palace though... The FRUs sealed off all the routes to the palace.

Psst bar council got issue letters for lawyers to march or not?

I was on my own media blackout since last Thursday as I was travelling and enjoying my sister's wedding in Singapore. What I heard from my relatives during dinner on Sunday was that there were rioters in KL and the situation was tense with FRU and the like. They heard all these from the news (mainstream) and they were blaming the opposition parties for creating trouble in our peaceful nation. When I heard that, I was quite disappointed that those who assembled did not control their emotions and went overboard (though I did suspect that if at all, it could be the work of the govt.'s own people). When I got back to office and read most of the online reports, I realised how the public has been fooled and blinded by the mainstream media again.

The thing is, people from the rural areas (including my relatives) are not internet savvy and do not read alternative news. Can't blame them for their ignorance due to the background they are coming from. It would be interesting to see how the voting results show in the urban areas.

Costa - I've not bought read the papers for the past year. Sure, I read their online edition..lol It's pointless really when papers are not writing the truth..

Ed - You'll be surprised how many Malaysians do not even know there's a rally going on. I spoke to a few from my hometown and nobody knows. The truth is, many Malaysians still rely on the mainstream media. Summore not many are internet savvy.. maybe the young ones. Provided they're not those merely using the net for chatting and dating chicks. lol

I read somewhere that Malaysia has banned the mainstream media from reporting or circulating graphics of the event, ala Pakistan's style. If that is true, I condemn the move.

While this primarily is a Malaysia issue and does not affect me in any manner, I have to say this is not a PM's Malaysia we are looking at. It's Malaysian's Malaysia. I hold the same belief for Singapore.

How does highly educated people fail their maths? It's hard to imagine how 4,000 protesters can fill up several streets. If only common sense prevails.
