I do paid posting. It ticks me off. We can't do no follow ads or the posts won't get approved, so we are screwed. But the problem for advertisers is that we won't be able to do the links, and then they won't get the extra ratings if we get booted out of google. And if we are booted out of google for linking to them, then we can't get their ads anymore, and they can't find bloggers to advertise for them. Everyone is getting stung in this. I just don't understand why Google cares? If someone has the links, paid or not, they should be where they are ranked. It isn't trustworthy ranking if they are putting people's ranks down artificially. So it means nothing anymore. I took a 3 point hit, too. I do paid posting. It ticks me off. Firtly I don't do TLA but then nowadays, Google do consider paid posts in the ranks of paid links. It is no secret really, Google is penalizing folks selling links, advertising on their blogs and paid posts. You mentioned blogs with paid links retaining their PR.. I would say it would be a matter of time before Google catches up with them. Honest, from the forum I go to, it has been known Google is declaring war on paid posts and advertising.
