I recently came across a new network that is an Adsense alternative known as, Prosperent. You should give it a try as it is very customizable and has a high eCPM. I highly recommend it.

I took a 3 point hit, too. I do paid posting. It ticks me off. We can't do no follow ads or the posts won't get approved, so we are screwed. But the problem for advertisers is that we won't be able to do the links, and then they won't get the extra ratings if we get booted out of google. And if we are booted out of google for linking to them, then we can't get their ads anymore, and they can't find bloggers to advertise for them. Everyone is getting stung in this.
I just don't understand why Google cares? If someone has the links, paid or not, they should be where they are ranked. It isn't trustworthy ranking if they are putting people's ranks down artificially. So it means nothing anymore.

Nickeblue - The PR ban could happen for a variety of reasons. Firtly I don't do TLA but then nowadays, Google do consider paid posts in the ranks of paid links. It is no secret really, Google is penalizing folks selling links, advertising on their blogs and paid posts. You mentioned blogs with paid links retaining their PR.. I would say it would be a matter of time before Google catches up with them. Honest, from the forum I go to, it has been known Google is declaring war on paid posts and advertising. (except their Adsense)
Not only my friends are hit.. the whole paid posts community are hit... BAD. :-)

Good thoughts behind that post. Just wonder why most of your friends' blogs are getting hit by Google. Has it really got to do with paid links alone? I've seen blogs with paid links and still they are retaining their PRs. No, these are not splogs. They are just like all the other blogs trying to monetize for all it's worth. I've looked around a bit. Could it also be due to "massive" links or what they call meme links on those blogs that got hit? Some of your friends" blogs have very, very long list of links to all kinds of blogs and maybe some splogs. It's just an observation.

Pablo - You're one gutsy guy. :-) It's true, the money we've made so far is already a blessing. :-)

Shireen - True. The advertisers are the one with the bucks. SInce the advertisers have no intention of doing away with the G rules, there's nothing we can do. The point I'm trying to say is G will continue to rule as long as the advertisers are still into their game. :-)

For us 'suppliers', we can only provide facts and statistics as to why "you should advertise with me". The rest is up to the advertisers. Until and unless the advertisers are willing to look beyond the G system, doesn't seem like we can do much at the receiving end.

I love soccer far too much than to bother whether any advertiser wants to sponsor me. If I kick like a guy with two left feet, so be it. Anyway, my Blogsreview was demoted from 4 to 1. I started with nothing and I don't mind ending with nothing as long as there is much in between.
