I've been thinking long and hard about this too - obviously I've started a new blog since one of mine got smacked from PR4 back down to 0. I guess the bigger question is - traffic-wise, has anything changed? I haven't been delisted, so the traffic I get on that blog is basically the same. And I'm always learning more ways to bring traffic to different sites - but honestly I wasn't all that concerned about PR to begin with. There are plenty of ways to monetize my blogs over and above paid blog reviews, so I will be exploring these and trying each of them with my original blog as a control.

I guess the short version of that comment is - I'm going to completely ignore PR going forward and concentrate on just building an audience.

It's funny, I've been blogging for years even before I've learned how to get traffics into it. I never really shield away from lack of audience, although I do believe it's healthier to blog for writers when they're getting feedbacks. Blogging is a passion for most of us, and the readers come right after. Our priorities of having one is because we could have a place to put all our writings. So yes, to answer your question, I'd keep my blog no matter what.

Besides, I never know you could have a PR for it. I just thought it's something you do for yourself :).

Great post hun!

A big thank you to all of you who took time to share your thoughts. :-) I've not decided on anything yet so I'll play by the ear.

Thanks again for all your insightful thoughts. If I don't get to see you people again before X'mas, here's an early Christmas greetings to you and your family. :-)

I went from a PR5 to a PR3 and I got a little disappointed since Google thinks they own the internet. But I say screw them (I gave them a toilet award on my site :P) and I will continue to do whatever I want, paid or not :)

Despite being up for 7 months I have never been anything more than a PR0, so I'm totally used to it. I still get some good 3P posts, and Smorty posts, I've stripped every google ad off my site and replaced it with bidvertizer, I don't make so much money I have to categorize it like the big boys do every month (to attract readers? to brag? to make readers feel like failures? I'm slowing beginning to think some of those guys might be assholes or something. And I didn't see google take the big shot at them either, despite their money making ways) Google is a bunch of assholes who want a monopoly on the market, and I don't think the blogging community is going to let them fuck with them like that. 3P has their RealRank already, and I won't be at all surprised to see other stuff coming up the pipeline. Google, I think you just made a fatal mistake. Helen, you do whatever the hell you want, and give Google a slap in the face. What a bunch of assholes. Did I say that already?

i'll keep my blog and continue accepting paid posts - PR+ or none.

what google did (although they are denying it) is rude in all sense, however I don't care anymore as long as I keep my readership and I continue with blogging what I want to blog.

cheers helen ^^<

happy holidays!

I will definitely keep my blog even though mine has gone from 0 to 1, then 2, then 3 then the big fat smackdown 0 . But who cares..after all writing those paid posts are just for the fun and joy of extra $$ and more over that is my one and only blog, keeping too many blogs is not an easy task too.

My advice is if you are not paying for this domain , just leave the blog as it is then who knows one day, the lost PR will come back. We can never tell what the future holds, but if you are paying for the domain, then it will be a different thing altogether.

Anyway enjoy the festive seasons first and forget about blogs and PR.
Have a Blessed Xmas and a Happy and Fruitful New Year.
